*Why didn't it came with an exhaust button (like R8)
Still searching for a way to install my R8 GT steeringwheel in the 6 (some are working on it)

In my opinion it's weird to install r8 steering wheel into rs6, concerning exhaust button we can choose to make exhaust loader from comfort to dynamic so it no point for such button, if you want exhaust dynamic you go to to individual and make exhaust to dynamic and valves open

However, it does flag an alarm. It doesn't show on the dash or MMI but if you plug a laptop in it will show the error. But if you are happy with the sound then you can buy the Milltek valve delete modules that cancel the error.
Anyone knows the actual PN of the Milltek valve delete module ? I searched through their site but can't find it listed.
Some resellers in the US carry it but its odd not to find it on their website.

Remember to cover up the plugs - I disconnected them, valves open; plugs corroded..... just cost me £360 to have them all put right again at the dealer. Chirping sound, I mentioned on another thread is down to almost nothing now and one appreciates the valves closed and the neighbour doesn't have to cover her ears in the morning

For what it is worth, i installed CETE exhaust valve controle module recently and does the job perfectly :).
https://www.active-sound.eu/en/audi/aud ... ve-control
Active Valve Control
You drive an Audi S6 4G / RS6 4G and it’s equipped with an exhaust system including valve control at delivery?
You would like to control the valves individually?
It also bothers you to open the valves every time again if you start the engine?

With our Active Valve Control you can get complete control of the exhaust valves in your Audi S6 4G / RS6 4G.

Functions
The module can be installed fast and easy via Plug&Play and the original state of your car stays retained.

No external buttons are needed. The entire comfortable handling is controlled by already existing buttons/other controls inside the car.

Following functions are available with Audi Drive Select menu:

Audi Drive Select: Comfort Mode
Both exhaust valves are closed (even while cold start)

Audi Drive Select: Auto Mode
Possibility to go to original mode anytime

Audi Drive Select: Dynamic Modus
Both exhaust valves are open permanently

Innovative features

Protection of engine (security function)
Fully loaded car drives with closed exhaust valves can damage your engine. That’s why our module opens valves from revs of about 5,000 RPM in order to protect the engine.

Reversal of valves via original button
You’ll have the possibility to reverse the valves during dynamic as well as comfort mode. That means: You’re driving in comfort mode with closed valves but wish to open them? No problem, just click on the original button twice.

Thanks for the PN.
I made a test yesterday evening by disconnecting the flaps and protecting the terminals with duct tape.

I would not say that the result is outrageous, but at least, the clumsy transitions at low and mid revs are gone and there is a hint of V8 burble all the time. Definitely the way to go for me.

I had driven a pre-FL car extensively and my recollection was that the RS6 C7 had more personnality in the sound department.

An additional question: does each part of the set include connection to the flap actuator body and to the cable, so that both terminals are neatly protected ?
It is hard to tell from the pictures where the shiny end is actually a cap.

I watched the local kwik-botch fit mine and it appears to handle the cables but does not cover the connectors on the back boxes. Duct-tape is still your friend. I just gave them £20 and they did it on the ramp and cable tied the protected ends out of the way as well.

Yes the modules only protect the wire which is the hard bit to replace. Exhaust can be replaced easily if it did fill with dirt.

So

If valves are open all the time....does that mean you get pops all the time too.

The valves just control volume not pops and bangs. Pops and bangs are controlled by the gearbox (and therefore the engine map) being in Sport mode.
Doesn't matter whether you are in comfort or dynamic, selecting S on the gearbox in either mode with make it pop and bangs, selecting Drive in either mode will stop the pops and bangs.

The big advantage for me with the valves disconnected is that I don't need to cycle round to dynamic each time I start the car as my valves will still be open.

Unplugged mine tonight and same as Iain above... however when revving in neutral (not a regular occurrence), I could barely get it to pop and bang, whereas my Pre FL sounded aggressive. Not entirely sure if that has anything to do with disconnecting the plugs or maybe something else...
