led side lights

Post by johnny11 » Tue Feb 09, 2010 10:00 pm

Can the side lights be replaced with white LED ones or do the they need to be a normal 501 bulb to not bring up a bulb fault on the DIS?

You can change them for led ones with no problems, fairly cheap on Ebay..

I saw white side lights on a C5 on Sunday and then compared them to standard ones which were very yellow.
The white ones really suited it more. I`ve enquired about a set on ebay but the seller has got back to me saying the ones he sells does bring up faults on the DIS.

The ones I've got in mine are from Ebay and have never shown any faults.

These are the ones I fitted about a month ago..... http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/ultimate-501 ... -1684.html

Dearer than some I've seen on ebay but no fault codes/problems and so much better than the original ones.

Dave - are these ultraleds ones just a straight swap with the stock bulb?

Is it possible to change the main head lights for LED or is that too complicated??

When you say these are the ones 'you' fitted, thats not quite true is it? You couldn't work out how to open the bonnet could you?!

has anyone replaced all the bulbs? i..e front side, rear tail, brake, reverse, fog, number plate. etc etc etc? is it better to replace the whole rear unit with an LED version or just replace the individual bulbs.

Hehe. That'll be me. Next to Phil's, mine looked like candles! Or a torch with a normal bulb and half-used batteries.

I never realised how yellow they were until we did a side-by-side comparison.

I must order some of these LED jobbies myself.

Hi Paul, just seen your reply! Yeah, just a straight swop. Don't know why you'd want to change your mains for LED though?? Surely the Xenons are bright enough!
