wobbly suspension?

Post by RS4Ralph » Sun Jun 14, 2009 9:42 pm

Guys,

For a while I've noted that at fairly high speed, a little flicker of the wheel and the back end is all over the place...I replaced the suspension to H&R coilover and currently have it pretty low down. I still have the overall soft and wallowy feeling, which I'd really like to tighten up, but at the same time I don't want my back to break on a long trip.

Any suggestions on what I can do to tighten things up a little? Do I have to go down the ARB's route or can new suspension bushes do the trick?

Thanks,

Stan

replace all of the bushes. Even if you get new OEM bushes and not poly bushes, you will notice a massive difference

the inner lower rear and front lower bushes take a lot of grief, but if you want to do the job properly change all of them

No!
Lots of grovelling under ramps to do rears. I done them in situ to save me from disconnecting the handbrakes and brake lines. I had an air chisel to colllapse the old metallastic bushes. Took me about 3 hours to do rear inner lower bushes

I replaced mine with powerflex too(much easier to install, but noisey!)

iirc 20 bushes front and back.

Approx £300-£350 for powerflex bushes plus labour if you don't diy
