Franck has around 420g/s, lucas around 485 I think... hard to say for L, because ECUx has never worked on his car, but reading it straight off the ECU was right around 485g/s...

Where does that 360.8 g/s limit come from? The ECU apparently can understand more?

The limit only comes from the VAG protocol and the way the measured data is carried through the standard vag protocol. If you use a different protocol that grabs the data straight from the ECU's RAM, then you can read anything the ECU is registering.

Mihnea - if the S4 MAF sensor can only measure up to 335g/s does this equate to a limiting factor for what the ecu can request of the engine/dictate to the engine in terms of fueling/timing/boost etc? In other words: with a stock S4 MAF the ecu will at most see 335g/s air mass/flow and NEVER anything above that - so the ecu will only ask for the max fuel/timing/boost appropriate to 335g/s air mass/flow??

My understanding is that after 335g/s the default map takes over so you don't get the spot on fueling that you would get with the MAF reading but it still keeps producing more power...bit like when you disconnect the MAF to test if it's bad or not. The best solution would be to fit a RS4 MAF but you need the Airbox, pipe, intake etc etc so I never bothered.

Ok - makes sense. I'll have to find out at what point in the rev range i hit the 335g/s limit ...

Nige, you don't max it out, you only max what vag com can read out ;)

I'll dig some logs up and post them but they're still on my old laptop (I changed laptops 2 weeks ago)...

Bout time you had a new laptop :nodder:

I swapped to an RS4 maf which maxes out around 350 (jumps higher just after gearchanges though)

Come on David, I was in love with my old laptop, the display on it was sooooo good... and now I'm kicking myself for not buying a 20" screen one, only a 17" widescreen which sucks in comparison with the old one...

My typical max maf reading is 260 (repeatable), however in my logs from the other month I have a 269.81 but I have never seen it that high apart from that one occassion. Only ever done a few logging sessions though.

I know you loved it mate. Biggest screen I'd seen on a lappy  I reckon you need another 20" one at least, what with all those numbers & maps  Has the new one got an 8 hour battery and a 750gb disc?
