Hi Image Looks like the power connector for the SAI pump. I assume you have a SAI delete? It’s quite a common modification.

Well here is a photo of my SAI power connector, which looks quite the same to me Image If it’s not SAI then it’s an engine mount connector… My money is still on SAI…Image

The SAI pump is located on the left hand side of the engine bay (circled in red). The ECU is located in the top right corner of the engine bay under the cover. This is the same for both LHD and RHD cars.
Check to see if you have this pump and is it plugged in? If not tuck the lead away, preferably away from the turbos. Somewhere near the ABS pump would be a good place Image
It could still be SAI or engine mount, but you need to start diagnosing Image

Possibly plugs in to part no. 11 on this diagram, which is mounted underneath the nearside chassis rail at the front?

Part No. 11 on the diagram is the coolant circulation valve. It could be that, but I'd expect that @markmark to be having overheating problems if the valve was not working due to it not being plugged in? Or maybe the valve works in re verse i.e. always open? I'm not sure...

I would always wage that wire, on that side of the bay, is for that valve. It may not be, but it’s always the first thing to check since it’s so easy to miss.

It is for number 11 , coolant valve , the original picture in the first post was when i asked if anyone could identify the plug in my hand on passenger (uk) side engine wiring , and it was for the coolant valave under the pass side chassis leg.the wire that has been marked with the red arrow is the cable leading to the plug i am holding.

Hi guys, especially PWACK and Matt

In my case as I had 2 extra plugs, so this wire was indeed for the coolant valve as mentioned above. It totally threw me because I don't have the HOT COUNTRY package on my car, so I don't have that valve either. When the engine was changed in my car from BCY to BRV, so was the wiring loom ;-) problem solved :-)
