Easiest way to turn engine over without start?

Post by TOPMAN » Sun Sep 22, 2024 12:08 pm

Hi all

This is going to be any easy question to answer for some, but today I'm struggling to find the answer.
Engine has been sat a while as I have been taking my time with the SJP install. With fluids dropped and various bits changed, I'd like to start the car systematically. I assume it might be easiest to pull the connector for G28, but I can't find where it connects to the loom. Can someone point me in the right direction please :bigblink:

Thanks in advance...

Look in the FAQ. There's a procedure.

Saved you the trouble:

Pull fuse 29 and turn the engine over for about 5 seconds to prime the pump. Put fuse back in and start normally.
It's the last to bottom fuse on the left IIRC.

I always pull fuse 29 and 28 and let the oil pressure build up then start the engine

You don't need to pull 28. 29 is enough. Also it won't leave any fault codes.

Thanks mate! It’s only because it stinks of fuel I pull 28

Yeah. I suppose if you’re going to turn it over for a lot time that makes sense to pull 28 too.
