It's been a while since I started a thread on a car forum - doesn't look like anyone uses them anymore, but it’s a much better way to document your ownership, so here I am!
I sold my mk1 TT trackcar ("The Turbo Turd" , "The Turbo Hairdryer") earlier this year after i got fed up with it. It was fun, but it had an oil blowby issue that was getting worse and worse - and ultimately might've needed a rebuild to solve. No thanks.

For my next track car I wanted something VAG, AWD, with tuning potential. Also something quicker out of the box than the mk1 TT was, so i didn't need to go big turbo etc to get it to good power levels. A mk2 TTRS seemed like a good option, with the added bonus that I've never owned a 5-pot.
I also wanted to buy a car that someone else had already done some of the mods to.
This one came up for sale already APR stage 2, gearbox mapped, milltek, and wagner FMIC. It had generally been well looked after through its life and the work done somewhere reputable (The Phirm), although the most recent owner had cheaped out on a couple of things. i insisted on a dyno run before I went down to Devon....came in at a healthy 430bhp, so i got it bought.
The aim this time is a "clubsport" type build. Good on track, but still OK on the road and retaining mod-cons.
