I just noticed the rubber part in the top strut has kind of moved a bit outwards as can be seen in the pic.
Dont tell me the shock has to come out to re-align it? :sleeping_2:

I see when the old shock came out, the rubber part kind of is in the same position...

Fronts done, love the noiseless and firm front.
Trying to get the rears done this week if all bolts and nuts are coming loose and are accessable...
Some say the rears are more easy, some say not.

Forgot to blow/suck out the oil from the cut DRC lines, they are still leaking on the driveway :bash:

@Ben:

Did you re-use suspension bolts and nuts for the rears?

...did the right rear yesterday, with no frozen bolts and nuts i found it easier then the fronts.
Getting the lot out of the car and new in was a bit of a challenge...
First time suspension work, each corner took me a day incl. Removal of spring from old shock and install on new shocks :bash:

It’s why I hate suspension work. Heavy and difficult.

Yes it is, and i hate having my head inside the wheelarch when the rear axel/suspension is supported by axle stand (and for piece of mind, a jack supporting the car at the rear jack points...)
This way i managed to get every bolt and nut to the right nm spec with rear axle under load, did the same with the fronts.
I measured from the center driveshaft to edge wheelarch (+/-34, 35cm) as a guide prior to get the whole lot out, and knowing/hoping/ thinking the ride height with new rear konis on lowest setting was around stock height.
Lowering the jack, with axle stand supporting the rear suspension, till reaching the 34, 35cm , then all bolts and nuts spec nm.
If you can't go to the track, bring the track to you.
