Recommendations for Audi servicing in Kent

Post by maars » Mon Aug 17, 2020 11:59 am

Looking for a decent independent Audi specialist in Kent/SE London to do some work on my RS4.

Who do you recommend?

4 Rings in Dartford always get good reviews.

Kent Automotive ripped me off. I used them a few times including fitting my coilovers. At the same time they allegedly changed the top arms. Within a year the car was back there for something else, and as part of their inspection they told me i needed new top arms! Either fishing for work or they didn't change them in the first place!

Also charged me £50 to run a scan to confim the TPMS antenna had gone which I had already diagnosed but wanted confirmation. Car was plugged in for about 2mins. The guy who did it wasn't gonna charge me but Aaron said it was £50 for cash for £50 plus VAT if I wanted a receipt.

Also, they have virtually no parking, so you risk getting your car damaged in the street or a wheel kerbed. My wingmirror got damaged whilst there but didn't notice until a day or so later. With Aaron's bad attitude & approach to customer service I knew it wasn't worth it.

I'm going to try 4 Rings in the future.

Thanks for the tip

I've used 4Rings before, and wouldn't recommend them either.

Why is it so hard to find a decent garage...

CamSpec in Crawley are excellent, but quite a distance from me.

QST are more for tuning, CamSpec more for maintenance.

Depends what you need doing @delroyx

First thing I want to do is increase the ride height. My KWs are set just a tad too low. Should be straight forward. I'd do it my self but my drive is on a bit of a slope & don't fancy the risk. Looking at QSTs website they should be able to do it easily as they supply KW.

Which KWs do you have? Coilovers or height adjustable springs with DRC dampers? I have the latter, but you’re right - easier to get the garage to adjust it. Plus it’s worth getting a 4 wheel alignment check afterwards. Both QST and CamSpec can do that.

Coilovers - v3. I've messaged both. CamSpec have already replied. I'll see if QST reply. Thanks for the recommendations. 🤞 They'll do a good job

CamSpec fitted my KW adjustable spring kit and set up the geometry. They did a brilliant job.

I messaged both QST & Camspec. David @ Camspec replied one Saturday evening. We exchanged a few messages & I booked my car in last Monday.

QST never replied.

David was very friendly & helpful & pointed me in the direction of a decent cafe near by. Anyway or couple or so hours later & the car was raised & aligned. The front is maybe 5mm at most too high, but David said to give it a bit of time & a few miles & see if it settles. If not he'd drop it at no extra charge.

I know it was far from a big job but so far so good with Camspec. Friendly, helpful, efficient, good workmanship & decent parking.

Worth considering for anyone in Kent/Sussex/Surrey as reliable garages seem few & far between.
