Some of the "ebay items" give a very limited vag com use.

Sure someone will explain why??

The proper vag com lead from Ross tech is prefered, dont think they cost that much either.

I've got a USB hexcom straight from ross-tech - just buy it direct, they are easy to deal with & put a lot of effort into it.

I agree - support Rosstech - that way they will continue to produce great products.

Be nice if we could say the same about Misocroft!!! :assflash:

Ebay cables will allow limited use of 3.11.2, this is an old version of VAGCom. Rosstech or approved distributor cables are dearer but instantly recognize later version of software. What does this mean....

1. Flash updating of interfaces as issues are fixed as you use later versions of the software.

2. Continued support for VagCom. Ebay guys pay nothing toward RossTech running costs.

3. Latest and greatest features for VAGCom, like can bus support etc....

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/revisions.html

4. Advanced feature set.

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/vag-functions.html

5. Activate the older VAGCom version costs $99 + ebay costs and is fixed to that PC. RossTech Key or Hex cables are transportable and start at $229. Download software run it, plug in cable and your are good to go on any PC capable of running the SW.

6. They wrote VAGCom, without Uwe and the RossTech teams dedication we wouldn't have the software available.

7. Tech support is awesome.

Hope that helps.
