I assume a performance version will be out soon
Steady on, the normal version isn't even available to order yet. The C7 Performance was out a year after the facelift which was 3 years after the initial launch. I'd expect the same this time as an attempt to bump up falling sales figures. Audi have never followed the BMW M model and always release the RS version much later in the model cycle.

To move from the F90 M5C to the C8 is going to require a performance edition available for circa 75k properly specced.
Won't happen. A well specced C7 Performance with 15% discount was about £80k so no chance you will get a decent spec C8 for less.
I think the C8 will be around £90k base. The Performance will be about £100k, with decent spec will make it £115k, with good spec and good discount it will be £100k. Audi don't discount like BMW do.

If thats the case, then I think they Audi will struggle aside from being an estate, the C8 doesn't have any major advantage over the F90 (in fact if the poster here is correct and the C8 is 140kg heavier it will be seriously disadvantaged over the BMW). Unlike the F10 versus C7 where the absence of 4WD on the M5 meant the c7 was a much more usable performance car in the UK. So I think Audi will need to be closer in price this time around and bring out their performance version sooner rather than later like BMW have done.

Audi are struggling shifting the RS4 sport editions at 70k so can't see a large market at 100k for the C8.

Dealers are struggling to shift anything at the moment, so I'm not sure your comment about the RS4 has any relevance. It's been the case for some time that BMW offer more off M cars than Audi do with RS models, so I can't see any reason why Audi would change strategy now. That said, I have been happy with the deals I have managed on my last two RS cars, but think it helps if you hang on until a little later in the cycle.

Agreed. The arse has fallen out of the market and it won’t get any better heading into winter.

Likewise, day one purchasers will need to take lube. Being no. 1 on the list doesn’t have many if any benefits! Six months in and support will appear from dealer margin and likely AUK finance contribution.

That got me juices flowing. I do like it but think the C7 looks more aggressive. Don't like the cowling/diffuser at the back at all though. Maybe you can stand on it to polish the roof :bigblink:

I had this with the C7. Was only offered a full tank of fuel and a lead for my iPhone on one of the first cars. I walked.
A year later the salesman opened with a £13,000 discount on an unregistered car with a list price of 85K and we did the deal.

Spoke with Milltek this afternoon - they have confirmed that they have an RS on order and will be developing an exhaust system next year. Saves ticking the box for "Sports Exhaust" on the order form, assuming it's not standard fit.

Sepang Blue with Black Pack would be awesome. I am wondering which Blue(s) will be standard. Ara Blue is too bland and washed out for me.

But yes a matt blue could also be interesting.
