I don't really like the rear diffuser but the red car above looks like it has a carbon one and that is much better.
It does make the C7 look really dated now though especially the interior.

I tend to agree, most new models date the outgoing and I think this is no exception, I really don't quite follow the critics on here, especially where performance is concerned. Without seeing one in the flesh and driving a C8 it's all too soon, but my instinct is that it's a little more in your face than the C7 and that's not me. However let's wait and see.

I'm sure that time will endear us to the new one.
Interesting when I read potentially 120kg heavier, that's seriously not good. The standard car is way too heavy anyway. Power is pointless if you are just offsetting it to weight.
I took a loan new diesel C8 series when my car was in audi last time. The interior (dash and touch controls) were beyond annoying, faffy and very distracting. I guess it's just a case of getting to learn them, but a knob is all that is needed to turn a temp control, navigating past various menu selections, plus the annoying slow time delay between menu screens is just stupid.
I preferred the inside of my c7 significantly. It's by no means perfect but preferable by far.
I'll mourn the loss of the dials. I guess it's coming to all our future cars. There is something very artistic about the C7 cluster, the new looks like something from a industrial control room.
New gear knob felt like a child's plastic toy. Its hard to get a hold of (I use this in manual, round tight corners for gear selection) and it's fragile, such as I could rip it off easily.

I think someone did this render on Instagram to get an idea of what it would like.

My name is down and first in the queue at my dealer. Ordering and the Configurator are apparently up at the beginning of November. Loving the Cognac interior and will wait to see all the standard exterior colours but maybe going to go for Matt Daytona Grey or Nardo Grey with the black pack.

I assume a performance version will be out soon - otherwise this would have had more or similar power to the M5 Competition. So there must be an enhanced version in the plan to compete with the M5C and this standard version is against the regular M5.

In terms of price I suspect it needs to be similar to the M5 - base model c90k , performance c100k without options. And also expect a high level of standard equipment like the M5 ( full leather etc).

the challenge for Audi is the M5s have some serious discounts at the moment - earlier this year I paid 78k for a 103k list M5 competition. So would definitely be waiting to see those discounts on the C8. Anyone paying at or close to list is going to take a serious bath, especially with the economic uncertainty we have in the UK.

looks good and I loved my C7 RS6, which I came from the F10 M5. To move from the F90 M5C to the C8 is going to require a performance edition available for circa 75k properly specced.

I think it will be at least 12months from launch of the C8RS before any performance model is announced. If there is - would Porsche, within Group, allow Audi to become the Halo status model over the Panamera Turbo SE hybrid? - I'm all for a performance model and was hoping that this was going to be the one initially announced. I think pricing point for the "PE C8" will be North of £100k - It won't be just an ECU and wheel change a la C7 RS.

When the C7 launched, I remember there was some great factory support from Audi in terms of £££, though I doubt that will be the same this time around for the C8.

I think they might do a performance version sooner than 12 months to keep up with BMW M. If they wait then it will be 2 years after the M5 competition was launched.

Not sure about the Audi / Porsche dynamic - I consider them to be different buyers given the massive cost difference. So not sure having a faster or as fast Audi would be such a challenge. I would rather have a 911 turbo S and a cheap utility car than a Panamera.

either way performance or regular RS6 there is going to need to be some serious discounts to shift them, which makes a mockery of M and RS "list prices" as I suspect almost no one is paying list.

It won't be long before 10k off is standard. Maybe more given state of market in this sector at the moment. Had my car serviced last week and salesman I spoke to you said business has dropped off a cliff in last 6 months.
