Stick them on and enjoy I say. Had I had the money to spare then I would have probably gone for the Alpin, but these Conti Winters are pretty fantastic.
I have a 3.5 hour or so drive to Torquay today and back tomorrow, will be good to give them a really good long run.

I've used most "premium" brands of winter tyre over the last decade on both my cars and there's very little difference, they're all excellent.
Of course, none of them are summer tyres, so don't expect that style of grip on a warm dry road, but when things get cold they all work superbly.

Agree, as an aside the handbook expressly forbids them too!
