Could you go halves on a track car with someone else, and have it live at their place?
That’s not a bad shout Faisal. Dougle I’ve got a caged E36 on joint ownership... it lives in my garage keeping warm and dry, so I’m pretty sure he’d be happy for you to pay it’s keep instead... or a three way?
PM me some details Marc, where are you located again?

As I keep telling people, there is nothing strange about meeting men I hardly know, in car parks, at the weekend.

I looked at installing a carlift for a property I was considering once. Would solve the dilemma and you can even get double ones.

Well, I think I can safely say that the masses have spoken - I would be crazy. Happily, I've managed to secure a garage for the track car, (well a space to build a new garage). So I'm keeping the B7 (although I've just had a new RS3 for an extended test drive this weekend-so so fast).

So now I just have to find the car and build the garage. I'm fairly sure I'm going with the tried and tested cheap and French route (1*2). I have a date booked with a certain 'track ready' Frenchie at the end of the month and have been scouring the classifieds.

If anyone else has any ideas on the car I'm all ears.

Good man!

The cars I considered were:

- Clio
- MX5 with a turbo or supercharger
- E36 328
- S2000
- Mini Cooper S

Then the TT came up for sale..

I'd like it to genuinely be cheap, so 3-4K max Marc.

There’s a few R26 Megane’s available for that sort of money too. E36’s are a good base, you’d be able to build a great car from.

Do you have a preference which wheels are driven?
