If you activate it and you haven't got one, then presumably it will throw an error code. Are all the physical connectors on the comfort seats the same as the buckets?

Still have the buckets in and haven't got the comforts just yet.
Previous posts on here say they are identical connectors
Surely as I presently have buckets that should't be enabled?
There are no error codes when scanned.

Have a look at your buckets. You should be able to identify the airbag locations.

There's this panel but it's not marked airbag and I thought this was the whole point of the excercise that buckets didn't have built in airbags

Have you got a terminal resistor in the airbag connector harness? Looks like models with buckets have a resistor instead of an airbag which could explain why your coding / adaptation is the same:

The 3-pin connector for the comfort seat side airbag is orange it seems.

Cool. Promising. That suggests that the coding from the other RS4 is what you will need.

Which suggests you might have to go digging for the connector for the comfort seats and remove the resistor.official VAG yellow airbag resistors to connect in the floor panel under the driver and passenger seat.

I wonder whether you will have to mess with the seat occupancy stuff. One problem at a time...

So I've changed the seats over but Noe I have both an ESP light and an airbag light on. The on board display says passenger airbag deactivated on start up as well.
Changing the coding as previously mentioned does not seem to make any difference. These faults are now shown
Battery was disconnected prior to removing seats .

Looks like it's expecting to see an occupancy sensor. Did the other car have one?

Are there any connectors on the seat belt anchor? Other than pretensioner?
