Dirt in Exhaust Sockets

Post by Iain » Sat Jan 14, 2017 11:53 am

Morning All - quick one - unplugged the sockets so the valves stay open

Car threw up emissions warning fault on the dash - was in for its service yesterday and the only fault found on the diagnostics was exhaust baffles - light is still on dash

Plugs are a bit sh1tty - Audi said they need replacing (they would)

Milltek going on next week - any recommendations as to what to use to clean plugs? Audi cam below

I'd be trying some Brake cleaner and a small pick first. If the terminals are really badly corroded, the connector would require disassembly and new pins fitted onto the wires and then re-installed into the connector. The dealer is probably charging you 1 hour labour, for the technician to do it.

I plugged them with the Milltek valve delete units that stop them fillings with crap and cancel the errors.
