MPG
Re: MPG
I have previously posted on this subject, talking about how I was striving to beat 30mpg but now I am worried that I am coming across like a pussy. I want to make it quite clear that, whilst I take an interest in my fuel economy, this should in no way be interpreted as meaning that I drive like a normal person. For the avoidance of doubt, I drive everywhere at maximum revs and always comfortably above any posted speed limits; if I am forced to drive slower than V-max, I change down gears to maintain the engine in the redline. I only slow down when I am on my driveway and, even then, I maintain speeds in excess of 80mph until I am within 10 feet of the brick wall, at which point I brake hard enough to make the disks glow red and I then lament not spec'ing the ceramic brakes 'ramics.
Re: MPG

Re: MPG
you lads are getting a much better MPG than me
I was chuffed at 24-26 MPG, that was a 3 hour Surrey to Harrogate M1 driving normally (nervous passenger)
I average a journey at 20 MPG
Sept 2013 car
24k miles
Also noticed your (FL?) models have a slightly different RPM cluster, the MPG display also has a different layout.
Never seen the first layout Zeebuilder posted opening this topic.
Software update? Or am I stuck with the older setup?..
Also, although I'm sure I can hear the tone change when moving from 4 to 8 cylinders, could this be the exhaust valve opening/closing?
Did all the C7 RS6's have the Eco cylinder reduction, or just the later models
