European Sat Nav Map?
European Sat Nav Map?
Does the C7 come with sat nav maps covering all of Europe? In particular I'm interested in France, Belgium, Holland & Germany. I can't seem to find this info anywhere.
I have a wedding in dusseldorf in May and am thinking it might be a nice little road trip.

European Sat Nav Map?
Pretty sure it will. I've driven to France in my rs4 and all was there, so the c7 must as a newer tech. Have you tried planning a route and zooming into the destination to confirm?

If it doesn't use Navmii for free SatNav from your mobile, or if you have a good data roaming deal with your network, use Waze. I have Built-in Nav on both of my cars but only ever use Waze

Thanks, not taken delivery yet so can't check for now.Moonmonkey831 wrote:Pretty sure it will. I've driven to France in my rs4 and all was there, so the c7 must as a newer tech. Have you tried planning a route and zooming into the destination to confirm?

Thanks but I'd rather use the built in nav if I can. Can you use Google Maps via connect even if you don't have the map on the HDD?asifg wrote:If it doesn't use Navmii for free SatNav from your mobile, or if you have a good data roaming deal with your network, use Waze. Or alternatively I'll buy the appropriate map.

Yes it does
Re: European Sat Nav Map?
Ok thanks Dave.
Re: European Sat Nav Map?
Just came back after driving through all those countries, and I can confirm that the Sat Nav have full coverage.
Re: European Sat Nav Map?
Thanks. Any special tips eg which countries require special equipment like high vis vests etc?
Did the headlights automatically adjust to driving on the left or did you have to manually set it through the MMI?

France requires you to have high vis vest and breathalysers, so I recommend having those in the car at all times.MikeFish wrote:Thanks. Any special tips eg which countries require special equipment like high vis vests etc?

The headlights changes automatically based on the country the car is in (takes it from the sat nav). It works a treat and the LED Matrix is awesome

Thanks Heden
Re: European Sat Nav Map?
And the high-vis jackets MUST be accessible from the driver's seat. Putting them in the boot is not acceptable. I expect it's only the must curmudgeonly of Gendarme's who would have you on this technicality, though.
Re: European Sat Nav Map?
Thanks. I found a nice guide to each of the countries on the AA website which explains all the little bits I need to know. It says exactly what you said that the hi-vis needs to be in the car not the boot so you can wear it before you get out of the car in the event of a breakdown. And about the breathalysers etc.
Re: European Sat Nav Map?
Those high-vis jackets are not just for breakdowns. When the Clifford BlackJack kicks in, the criminals can make safe and orderly exit from the vehicle wearing high vis jackets to ensure they can be seen by other road users whilst they deploy the emergency warning triangle.
