I did put this question to someone from Audi uk a while back, more specifically relating to the RS4 being avant onlyW8PMC wrote:Totally agree. If they confirmed the RS6 Performance Edition was going to be available in Saloon, i'd be transferring a deposit across immediately.MikeFish wrote:It seems the 7s depricate more due to their less desirable looks. I don't know why Audi insist on making these fastback RSs. I bet they'd have sold a lot more RS6 salpons tjan they have RS7s. And the same probsbly with the RS5 and a B8 RS4 saloon. Hopefully they've learnt their lesson and start making RS saloons again.
Fingers crossed the C8's available in Saloon form.
The long and short of the answer was that having a coupe RS version (in this case, an RS5) does wonders for the sales of the normal A5's, and it's that model over the A4 where more optional extras are ordered. As we all know, there's significantly more money to be made in customers spec'ing up a car than selling dozens on boggo spec A4's to company car drivers
I'd assume the same could be said for the A6 and A7
