I'm 95% sure it's the standard version Mike and yep, kept the stock resonator but with the milltek decats. No motorway drone but still savage when I put my foot down.

Absolutely love the decats and the raw sound they give... don't think I'll tire of the popping and crackling when decelerating either! Very happy with the setup so far, quiet when I want it to be, and goes mental when I choose :)

Yeah the 350ps did strike me as being low... was hard to recall if the car had always been that slow or I'd simply got used to the power after the initial shock of buying it (I went from a bog standard 1.6 Golf to this) :)

Being fabbed up as we speak. Chopped out the mesh from a C6 RS6 grille and using the surround of a B7 A4 Sline grille. Trying to get it looking as OEM as possible and it's getting very fiddly. will get there in the end though :)

Just got back from GTI International @ Shakespeare Raceway, managed to pull 12.6s on the strip.

Fully air'd up the back to minimise squatting on launch and had the nose down, air con off of course (even though it was boiling hot in the car), traction control off...
Launch Control and Flat Shift worked a treat :mrgreen:

My brother was in the stand filming so will put a video up soon... though I think he missed the 12.6s run :boohoo:

Yeah I was there also and saw you on the line with it's arse in the air - lol

It looked a bit odd going up the strip but hey if it worked ;-)

I managed 12.7 but was struggling to get the revs right on the launch. I'll check my vids as I think I might have captured one of your runs ;-)

I'd say take your time and do it slowly. Don't cut the bare mesh out of the RS6 grille, instead try to keep as much of the outer edge as possible and blend it in with the destination grille, using filler and such. It's still not done yet, attempting to get it as close to factory look as possible, will have a pic up when it's done, should be very soon! :)

Why don't they do black or dark coloured undercoat. Dur :drink:

Do you live anywhere near Lincolnshire? I've a tubi and am considering putting the stock centre section back in to get rid of the drone but I think it might lose a lot of the rawness of it. (Videos never sound as good as real life)

I had a Tubi with milltek non res centre section and it was ferocious. I changed the mid section for milltek resonated pipes and while still loud, the exact words I peevioulsy used ti describe it was that it had the rawness taken away, like it had lost its bite.

That's a shame as it's the rawness of it that I like. It almost sounds like something's rattling the noise it makes but I love it.
