I would also be interested in a carbon clean...

What kind of money is the clean.

Could somebody give a range from low to high so we know what to expect?

MRC Carbon clean is £600-£800 - its on their website -> http://www.mrctuning.com/index.php/audi ... ns/rs4-b7/

Others can be cheaper but I trusted MRC to do the job based on all the feedback you can find on here.

For circa £1600 you can get cleaned, de-flapped and remapped to Stage 2. Results are ... fun. I went from 370bhp to 430bhp and the remap makes the Sport button actually do 'Sport'.

I don't have first hand experience with them,but the previous owner of my car had a carbon clean & their stage 2 remap done in August 2013,dyno graphs show 426 bhp,all I can say is that its a very quick car,much better than I was expecting.
But from what ive read on here,mrc are the best when it comes to our cars,when the next carbon clean is due,I will take it to them,& if funds allow get their stage 2 remap,ported,polished etc as well.
But as Amd are local to you,id be going there first to check them out if I were you.

Hmmm, 480 seems quite high, possibly dyno'd on jet fuel???

Says it has dyno sheet so that might be no. 1 on the n/a stage 2 lost... Big hike from what you see on the forum though...
Do you think he's take offers? ;-)

I just had a carbon clean at AMD in essex and got 436 before clean 459.9 after. When I was at MRC Doug said around 460 was max, maybe you could eek out a few more bhp with 2.75" exhaust and custom airbox but doubt it would be near 480.

I'll be surprised if mine makes 350. It doesn't seem to be running right at all. Sometimes the rev limiter kicks in at about 6500rpm. An engine management light has came on and the code was something to do with a manifold? Anyway, back end of next month I am hoping it's a whole new car. I am gutting the pre cats which should help also.

My guess is a vac leak which If I'm not mistaken affects the manifold flaps since they get clogged up with gunk too. That's why MRC recommend de-flapping at the manifold.

Am I wrong?

That makes sense and would explain the problem. I might have to attempt to get this sorted before I get there as they don't do mechanical work on a Saturday when I am going down. I would ideally drive away the same day as well. This might not actually be realistic now. I suspect that as part of the pre map health check, if the car is
performing poorly, they would insist the problems were put right. If I have to leave the car, so be it. I just want it running how it should be.

just being a bit sarcastic but jet fuel is paraffin so wouldn't even run on it :biggrin3: no way its making 480 ,ever! , highest i have heard of was 460 . MRC done it , i think it was their own one before they supercharged it
