Shortened number plate holder

I have a 6-digit plate I'm planning to put on the rs4 when it arrives and like a short plate to minimise the amount of unoccupied white space. Has anyone shortened the front plate holder or is a shortened plate holder available from anywhere?

You'll be able to buy a us or jap spec plate holder from audi or tps, alternatively you could cut a section out of a standard holder and plastic weld it back together then refinish it

Speak to your dealers parts department, there are a couple of sizes available for the plate holder. I know as I've asked the very same question.

That is what I did...cut out middle section etc..

Worked a treat.

Only thing I would off done different is screw the plate holder on then stuck the number plate on with double sided tape I just don't like the screw caps

I've got short plates too, that I will be transferring across when the new RS4 arrives, so will look at same options.

This looks like a good solution.

Does anyone have any pics of the rear of the plate holder and the grille and the fixings between the two?
