I'd find it hard to believe that a German tuner operating under the strict TUV guidelines and procedures that they have, would advocate such a procedure if there was any element of risk involved, they are an ultra cautious, conservative shower after all.
Rolling Road Day at QST
The other side of it is my old S3 spent a day(!) on the rollers with the fuse pulled when Peter Link mapped the car, with no adverse affects.....this is the procedure MTM use themselves in Germany, its not something Kim came up with himself and decieded to give it a go.

There is a world of difference between MkI and MkII Haldex. Mk I is open loop and completely unpredictable - ie you can drive the same corner in exactly the same way and get two entirely different results. With a Haldex controller ther is much less to worry about when it comes to putting cars on dynos.

I didn't know there was a MkI and a MkII.....? Unless you mean (as the rest of your post sort of suggests) that fitting the aftermarket controller makes it a MkII?Nordschleife wrote:There is a world of difference between MkI and MkII Haldex. OK spoke to Kim this morning.
He is happy to run Haldex cars in 4WD or 2WD whichever the owner would prefer.
Still on for this Saturday, can you all re-confirm so I can get the final numbers.
Refreshments and Mince pies available from 9AM.
If you have a preferance for a time let me know as well.
Cheers
