...but i dont understand why theres play in the in-out direction....that has nothing to do with a bearing is it? if a bearing is kaput there should be play in opposite direction...?

Wheel was the play when it was all bolted up? It doesn't surprise me that there's axial play. Some cars have nothing to hold the flange in since when everything is assembled the drive shaft limits how far the flange can come out.

Could it just be the inner cv joint isnt giving enough resistance after time, to eliminate the play? in other words, driveshaft gone...?

Don't hold your breath. Can you change the oil seal without removing the diff cover?

yeah thats easy...but i want to be 1000% sure that play is normal.
could try in the meantime a spare driveshaft (if i can find one...) to see if that works...

I think axial play is normal, but not in the perpendicular plane like the video you sent.

It isn't the shock - it's low pressure in the system has the valve system misbehaving. To check shocks simply look for evidence of leakage of hydraulic fluid
