Drying towel recommendations?

Anybody got any recommendations for a drying towel, microfibre or otherwise? Been looking at the Chemical Guys Wooly Mammoth which seems to get generally good reviews but any others?? When I've used microfibre in the past they've always left streaks/smears which then need to be buffed out again. I want to avoid that!! Cheers, Pete

My mate got a MF towel from Halfrauds and to be honest its quite large and thick and dries really well plus it didn't cost allot.

I have just got a Aqua Gleam 0ppm water filter and I am never going to use my drying towel again (unless I am going to polish the car).

Washed the wife's Phantom Black A3 as the test subject (mine is still clean) WOW, left it to dry naturally and there were no streaks or water marks anywhere, and it honestly looked as shiny as the last time I polished it.

Best £55 I have spent on car cleaning.

+1 for the Aqua Gleam filter - now only towel dry if I need to put the cover on before it has dried naturally! Bloody marvellous

Thanks guys, I've looked at these filters before and also had them recommended by a guy at work. Question though - do they come with standard Hozelock type connectors?

looks like there supplied in these links oh and i ordered one so can let you know if i comes with the connectors looks like it does in the photos

Yep standard hoselock style.

You get 2 connectors with a short piece of hose, you put one connector on either side of the short piece of hose, then connect that to the tap and the inlet end of the filter, you then connect your hose to the outlet end. Job done 2mins.

Works great with the power washer.

Says I should get about 60 washes out of a filter in our soft water area, however with the pressure washer you use half the water so I would hope for more.

Ive been thinking of buying a water filter after reading about them on Detailing World forum ,this is the one that i read good reports about http://www.screwfix.com/p/high-capacity ... _container ,it really needs to be plumbed in so this Aqua Gleam filter seems an easier option ,i use Kent mf drying towels reasonably priced and get good results

You can, but it is likely this will use up the filter in one wash. The filter's life is dependent on the amount of water it filters. Think they have got things muddled.

The filter is on the tap side of the pressure washer not the pump side this flows at your standard water pressure.

Your right according to Karcher"s sales literature a pressure washer uses less water than a hosepipe.

I use a leaf blower to dry the car off - any towel or leather will risk scratching the paint!

i used the filter over the weekend and it was great hardly any water left on after the final rince and quick 1 min wipe with a shammy

I currently use an extra large Uber Premium drying towel for the top half and an Elite Gentle Giant one for the bottom half and wheels.

Although I have today just ordered an 8 stage RO water system to feed a storage tank where the jet wash will be fed from. No more drying for me

Was just looking at this, 5 micron is only 900ppm, you would need to fit a 30 micron filter to get 0 ppm. But looks like a good permanent solution if 30 micron filters were available and cheap.
