Terraclean for rs4?

Dave, his car is not standard. He has stage 1 manifold, MRC stage 2 remap, Scorpian exhaust, cold air feed and gutted pre-cats. Dyno'd at 447ps.

Even 447ps isn't enough to explain a 7.0 time IMHO, that's 550+ps territory - so I'm with sakimano that there's a supercharger lurking in there.

I wish there was! But alas not yet! If you download the videos you can hear the engine note - no SC whine I'm not sure why it's that low TBH but I'm not complaining - I will try a different stretch and go back both directions and see what the on board DIS says as this is what was mentioned before as a way to measure. I do remember after the mods Doug saying mine was a quick one and was capable of a fair bit of advanced timing which was probably quicker on the road.

I stick by what I said - 447ps is nowhere near enough to deliver a 7.0 3k-8k time.

I have 438PS / 440NM

It is fairly simple math! - I run 8860 millisecons - in order to do 7080 milliseonds, you need 25,14% more power to weight ratio

The car needs to have 3.06503 kg pr PS and therefore 548ps / 550NM to get those kind of numbers (or tires that are 25% smaller i diameter than stock 255/35R19)

Great sums there however you need to accelerate from 1000rpm to get the momentum past 3krpm, it seems you are starting it at 2krpm and even 2.5krpm. But saying that iv only tried this when my car was a lot lighter due to part stripping of the interior, so the dynamics may be different.

Agree, if car was lightened it would make those figures.

Remember the Avant is heavier than the saloon

I love the Racelogic system, with the CAN data - you cannot really compare with the "analouge" video measurements, since the needle is 10% off (at least) to the CAN data

I know that the salon is 30kg lighter, but you need to lighten by 337 kg to obtain the needed power / weight ratio

Thanks - out of interest Morten what does your maths work out it should be for 447PS/490NM? If you're correct then only thing I can think of is that stretch I used must have had an incline?! Or a slight dip in the middle as that might explain the return runs when I went back up it.

I'm off to Santa Pod on Saturday (if the weather holds) so will use a couple of my runs to test again using the DIS - you can't get any flatter surface than that place...

that is 6.5% HP, but 14% torque increase which seems hard to grasp since displacement and comp ratio was unchanged...
if that torque number is accurate I would expect 7.5-7.8 range
if the HP is correct 8.0 - 8.2 range

Finally got around to trying this myself, last weekend.
Did a total of six runs (3 each, on two different stretches).
Times varied between 8.1 > 9.1
How does that seem Arthur ?

My Avant is supposedly down on power but still pulls well (to me).
Ambient temp was about 12-14c. Evening, so a bit moist.
Still have the SS downpipes and 100 cell cats.

(all done on the DIS / buttons... so plenty of room for error)

Thanks Arthur! The figures quoted were taken from the MRC rolling road after it had been remapped.
