...well, took out the driveshaft and looked at the bold nr 5 from the flange axle. unfortunately it wasnt the bold, so its prob a bearing inside the diff  looked in Elsawin, its shown ENGINE OUT jobbie...
Will have a look on the oil level to, cos there are signs of an oilleak.
Strange thing is i dont hear grinding noises, which i think should be there with this kind of play...

Looking at my options atm...

Not happy at all.

Can you feel play in the flange? Maybe the diff is dry.

Yes, about 1,5-2mm, in wheel direction and from front to back...
Will the right oil level solve the play? Or do you mean cos of possible low oil level its worn?

Two Audi mechanics I know have mentioned this is common wear over time. So im surprised i havent heard of this over here.
So i would recommend:

Play with your flange and be sure theres enough fluid...

I could move the car today for about 3-5 cm before i heard a click sound and couldnt move further forward. The same as when in P and move my foot from the brakepedal, it alway goes that distance forward before stopping....it drives fine, just noticed it this morning...
Probably normal...

Yes, there's loads of play in the drive train. When you put it in P you can still move the car a couple of cm back and forth.
