Sorry but I think that NOS was utterly chav in that car if I had been in the market for a 6 at the time this was for sale, knowing the history I personally would have steered clear. Not hating, just saying.
Current:

23' C8 RS6 Vorsprung - 23' RS E-Tron GT Carbon Vorsprung

Gone:

"Brutus"- C5 RS6 Avant - MRC stage 2 - Milltek non-res + 100 cell cats - Wagner ICs - PSS9 - H&R ARBs - OZ Superturismo LM - C6 Custom brakes - HD RNS-E - Various other bits - 555PS/832Nm
"Taz"- C7 RS6 - MRC stage 2 745PS/1095Nm
12' Cayenne Turbo, B7 RS4, S3, Cupra R, XJR, EVO VII, STI8,5,2&WRX, 106 GTI&XSI, other crap.

Ridiculous yes, i wouldnt necessarily condemn it to being chavtastic as its hidden away from view. My limited understanding of the chav ethos is that most "sharves" as I like to call them subscribe to the show but no go modus operandi, a chav would add aftermarket daytime running lights and named transfers across the windscreen for driver and passenger. NOS in the boot , IMVHO, slips under the radar and on a brief appraisal of the CSS( Chav standing score) it would hit the charts at -1 on the chav-ometer.

I don't like the use of NOS on big engines like this (don't think it is a great idea full stop) and personally I reckon the original NOS owner built it for thrashing the arse off it above anything else. I prefer either buying a standard one that has been well maintained and then modding accordingly, or buying one WELL modded that I know very well and trust. I just don't trust that particular 6.

Original owner had a number of bikes as well, one of which put down more power than any C5 RS6 here! He did like his performance and drove hard, part of the reason he is RIP.

Agreed on the suspicious without knowing factually otherwise. My spidey senses served me well about this car I reckon. Good find Ant!

I must say I really fancied this car when originally advertised. Love the fact it's a manual and has some real decent mods, apart from the bonnet vents! Plus it was local to me, but the owner never got back to me when I expressed an interest. Lucky escape? Did someone mention it had some Armco action at the Ring?

Ha Ha Ha, and he was saying it was the best thing since a good solid turd. Thought he had gone quiet on here.
To be fair, he did say he would probably sell it after ''minting it up''. Still, can't be that good can it? :bash:
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

That's a very short ownership!

Manual on these cars just doesn't work.
I used to own a 6, now I'm just a lurker!

Should I cry now or later? I sure as hell wouldn't go on to someones sale thread trolling and saying that something was a POS unless I actually knew it as gospel and was warning others. Manners and all that....... Sorry but to me all the ingredients were there for it to be a risk.......

P.S. I look forward to meeting you at ADI if you want to meet up. I will still be battered and a shadow of myself post-chemo but feel free to tell me what you think of me to my face. Happy travels, don't let the door hit you on the way out! :bigwave:

P.P.S. I still say it isn't all above board but hey, care.

Well it's one of the benefits of a forum that knowledge can be shared. Obviously if a car is bought on the forum and then up for sale in a matter of weeks it will raise eyebrows. All you need to do is respond (or not) to this post and explain, if you feel you want to. No need to start throwing abuse, acting hard and putting on the 'considerably richer than yow' chat about your mansion and abundance of vehicles.
