Any one know the price on the valves in the rs4 wheels

The valves in the rs4 wheels are ones that tell the computer if there flat I have had my wheels refurbed and don't want to pay dealer prices if there £££££££

Yes, I just had all of mine changed at the dealer due to corrosion - they were £13 each + vat, I think...

If its the TPMS sensors we are talking about your looking £75+ each, unless you buy an unknown make from ebay.de

There is 2 parts, the sensor inside the wheel and the valve that connects to the sensor and it the bit that you connect the pump to, to inflate the tyre. The sensors are quite expensive but can be had on ebay for about £100 odd but be warned they have batteries in them that cannot be replaced once they go flat, so if you buy a set that are 5 years old and the battery dies a week later you need to bin them and buy another set.
The valves are about £20 each on ebay. I bought a set of 4 for £75.

Yes, you subtract 512 from the value of channel 61(need to double check the channel number) on the instrument cluster.

I was told they had G sensors in them so are only active when the wheels are in motion, although the battery will clearly have a finite life, a set that has been sitting around even after some use may not be such a bad bet if has been "dormant" most of the time.

yes they do but even g sensors need power
Theres a mechanical switch that when the pressure is raised breaks and connects the electronics to the g sensor.
So the storage shelf life is actually really really long... but as soon as they are fitted then you are on a fixed lifespan (give or take).

Now if you could mix in self winding mech from some expensive watches you cuold have ones that neve need changing...

Oh that is sophisticated - I assumed the "G Sensor" was just a weight that got spun out & completed the circuit. Given I paid over 600 to service a mechanical watch earlier this year I think our TPMS is better left as disposable technology although to be fair the watch was still keeping time so maybe would be OK in a TPMS !
