Sorry mate - a bit slow on the response... Anyway - no it still does not have a 7 digit postcode search but I found the combo of 4 digit and almost instant road lookup and select just as usable. Prob here I see as if you don't know what the road is called at the 4 digit Post code location you are stuffed!

Apparently you can - a TT-RS wheel will fit with a relocation of the SPORT button and a fair few £££££ spent on the TT-RS MF FBSW with airbag/wiring loom

The radio stations on Freeview are not the same ones as on DAB, many are common but not all.

You say that but on many occassions I have entered the postcode (well as much as it will let me) then the name of the road, then it comes up with 2 or more options still, most of the time I have no idea which of the options it is as the yare very similar and you can bet that I always pick the wrong one and end up in the wrong place.

I would have thought that is not possible as AFAIK the vagcom is programmed for either a FBSW or a MFSW - however someone else who knows VAGCOM inside out should comment - maybe start a thread in 'electrics' ?

Nope, the RNS-E looks for a CAN bus message that the "Talk" button has been pressed on the MFSW.

So you need to wire a button to a "box of tricks" that genberates the CAN bus message. A member on audiforum.us called bjarne USED to make a box that did that (as a side effect of fixing some problems with the clock when retrofitting an RNS-E into a B5), but he doesn't make them any more.

Thats a shame, I'd prefer to add a talk button than change steering wheel and move the 'S' button.

I've been reading that phone cradles (or some of them) have talk buttons? Can we not butcher one of those to do a job for this?
