I have seen comments before about these wheels on an RS4 and they are mixed. Some people like like them but others don't. That doesnt bother me as long as I like them. My missus said to not buy them, she doesnt like them, I know half you guys will think they are wrong and i've seen a lot of comments that only the OEM wheels or the RS6 wheels look any good. I agree the OEM are a good set of wheels but I'm not a fan of the RS6 ones. Each to their own.

There's a photo of a B7 and a B5 with the same wheels in this thread:

Got me some new wheels

Your speedo will be out, irrc it should be showing more than you are actually doing, not sure how much maybe around 5%?. So be aware when driving past speed cameras.

When i was running 18s with a lower profile my speedo was out by -7%, so speedo 100mph i was actually doing 93mph. Also engine labouring more. Not sure of the engine will have a reverse effect if you have larger rolling diameter or not?

Btw you will kiss good by to handling anyway so you might as well get bags ;) lol
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

You mean it will be showing less than what I am doing? Hence the need to be careful of speed cameras?

I figured it is not a big difference; a new tyre has 8mm of tread and you will will typcially wear it down to about 2mm thereby experiencing a change in diameter if 6mm throught the life of the tyre. All I am doing is adding the same difference to a brande new tyre. As the tyre wear down it will become closer to the size of a brand new correct diameter tyre. I woudlnt have closen this, but hey ho, that's what comes with the whells and its close enough (temporarily) until they wear down and I get some 255/30/20 which will be an exact match to the OEM 255/35/19.

However, I didnt realise this would have a negative effect on handling! Why is this?
I figured a lower profile tyre has less side-wall flex during cornering and therefore better road holding. Is this not the case? Clearly I get that the ride will not be as smooth with a lower profile tyre though.

Hi Niils
Thats one of the photos I saw that helped me decide on which wheels to get. I know RS4s sitting that low is not everyone cup of tea but I think it's 8) 8) 8)

That isn't on air is it? I'm pretty sure you can get that low on coilovers and still be driveable.

your sidewall will be 3 mm higher on each side, barely noticable
it will decrease the fender-tire gap by 3mm and raise the car by 3mm

does any know if this combo rubs?
spacers F/R 8/10mm
wheen 9x20 ET26
265/30/19

btw, those 5 spokers are really good looking, my new favorites

I would say it is probably on air, don't see you being able to drive around like that!

Tou should be able to go quite low on coilovers, slightly higher than that pic, but the car does need to sit nicely on those wheels to pull them off IMO, otherwise you may aswel have stuck with OEM wheels or gone for some other 19" options on standard suspension, any thoughts on going for KWs or Bilsteins even?

Gonna wait and see what it looks like with the wheels on then decide. I've pretty much ruled out air due to lack of boot space so if it needs lowering I will need to look into the non-air side of things in more detail. I like the sound of the KW kit that still uses DRC. I'd like ot avoid a harder ride but we'll see.

Arthur, I have 8/10mm spacers on at the moment. The new wheels are 9x20 et26 and the new tyres (although not by choice) are 265/30/20. So later this week I will hopefully be able to let you know if it rubs.
PS I assume you mean 20" tyres as you specified a 20" wheel?

Can't wait to see a picture of your car with them on Mike. I have been toying with the idea of a set of these although only 18's for my S4 and wanted to see a picture of one with them on to get an idea of what they will look like.
Current car: 2007 BMW 530d touring.
Previous car: 2005 S4 B7.

Hi Batfinnk
Be warned, the 18s look very different (the ones i hve seen anyway). My wife had a set of 18s on her S3 and with the narrower rim (8" compared to 9") and the higher offset (ET50 comapred to ET26) you completely lose the concave look of them. Side on they will look similar but at an angle they won't dip in at the centre.
Unless of course you can find an 18x9 version with a low offset. I haven't looked so can't say if they exist, it's just the ones i have seen don't look as good in the smaller size. If Audi don;t make them in that size and you really wanted them still I'm sure one of the replica firms will make them.
