Thanks, will do that today!DALO wrote:I've just checked - it's in the coding of Module 17 - Instrument Cluster (J285)
Remove 16 from the 3rd & 4th digits and the "press clutch pedal to start engine" nanny reminder will vanish and you'll get the normal DIS display when the engine's off. In the coding guidance it's described as "+16 = clutch pedal switch operation in FIS display".
As standard the coding in mine was 0023418, so I changed it to 0007418, job done.

Are you using a dual K-line lead? The RNS-E is actually on the L(K2) line so if you use a single K-line lead or a CAN only lead you won't be able to access it.brn7y wrote:Cannot access rns-eadsgreen wrote:Rns-e rs4 logo
Check logs / stored codes.
If you are using a dual K-line lead, then the L(K2) line may not be connected to your RNS-E - is it a retrofitted one?

Then you need to get someone to check the wiring - it will have been OK when it left the factory but looks like it's failed since then.brn7y wrote:Checked option code, factory fitted.

Re: Vcds ordered
I just purchased VCDS from Ilexa (UK RossTech agent) & am having a similar problem, can't talk to the RNSE direct (module 37) or via the radio module.
Reading through the posts i see mention of a dual cable, the one I have only has one connector to fit the port under the dash. Where is the 2nd port ?
I also have an Ipod connection in the glovebox that is connected via the CD changer. Do I have the wrong cable or is the problem likely to be the Ipod conn ?
Thanks for any help,
Dave.
