Jubilee clips are great :)
I hate push on only fittings (they just feel wrong).

The great thing about an afternarket replacement would be that you could use aluminium fittings which means the corrosion problem simply goes away.

I would be interested in a purchase to preempt the problem.

I'm wondering if anybody's ever had a go at Audi about this from a safety perspective? Travelling down the M6 with oil on the brakes (without the driver's knowledge) isn't the safest way to travel!

Doug says it needs a new oil cooler....

I rang Inchcape Warranty. Unsurprisingly enough, external oil leaks are not covered. What a surprise.

Any chance of goodwill from the dealer, I have an Inchcape warranty too and wouldn't be best pleased if mine wasn't covered.

I've emailed Audi CS.

The guy at Inchcape said "external oil leaks are not covered, sorry"

Does that mean the oil cooler has failed or were the oil cooler pipes seized to the cooler and couldn't be removed (common problem)?

If there's no luck with the warrenty theres one on ebay from Aberdeen Audi for £540, not sure what they normally cost:

If you are having MRC do the work I think £500ish is in the ball park of why they charge for a new cooler. I can confirm tonight and PM you if you like?
