Buckets,no discussion needed

Ive has 2 sets of S3 not bucket seats in cars and as dk mentioned they just feel like any other standard leather seat.

If i was buying an s3 or rs3,it having buckets would be a very big factor, just like with the RS4

Right you are

So not going buckets on the RS4 shouldn't be a major issue then?

I wondered how long it would take for the "buckets or not" to come up here.

This has been discussed ad infinitum on the RS4 forum for the last 6 years+ - the conclusion?

Some people want buckets and some don't, so buy what YOU want and what meets YOUR needs. And there's a school of thought that says if most people spec buckets then sports seats will be much rarer and could attract a premium when selling (the law of supply and demand)?

Bucket seats no question. These seats are great and support you securely in the vehicle but a little bit tricky getting in and out the seat, but once your in there fantastic!!!!

Hasnt Andrew (Drybeer) already confirmed that the seats aren't the same as S3/S-Line seats?

I have to say they look different to me but then I'm amazed I can still see after Christmas! :D

nail and head

buy what you like

i dont have buckets and didn't want them, im the size of a gorilla and i spend 3 hours a day in traffic in it, the standard seats are damn comfortable and grip my ample frame perfectly, id note the bolsters look a bit bigger than the S3 i drove, the buckets are just too "snug" for me but probably fine for people with the frame more akin to a lady ;) and hobbits lol

one thing I would say dont get the electric seats, the raised seat hight buggers the driving position well it does for 6' 2" ape men

i had it retro fitted to my car, cost me slightly less than the option

its a must imo for driving in avg speed cameras, long distance drives in areas that you dont know and when your tired, too easy to get caught out hooning it RS cars when your not on the ball :)

Most people would want buckets, including me. But go with what you want. It may effect resale but your saving £2k now and at least you will be able to enjoy the car, the beauty of buying a brand new car is that you can spec it to YOUR requirements, not the 2,3 or even 4th owner down the line.

I've sat in both and feel the RS3 bolsters are different from the S3 ones (which are already a comfortable seat in their own right, but need lumbar adjust imho).

Like people are saying - pick the seats you want! For me it's the comfort option. For others it's the buckets. I'm not saying tickets are wrong, just that I don't think they are the be-all-end-all, and I truly don't believe it will make a jot of difference to resale value, as there's a customer for each.

Buckets without a doubt

I nearly didn't spec them on mine, but I'm glad things happened for a reason.

Bear in mind that with the S3, used cars with buckets usually command a premium. I know on the S3 theyre just over £2k, but what I'm trying to say is that come resale time they do sell quicker IMO, rarer and the premium.

But as said ideally go and try both and more importantly see what suits you best.

Regarding the bucket seats on the RS3 audi charge £2045.00 as an option which i think is worth it. But regarding the other option of the audi Design package in Black Fine Nappa leather with quilted diamond design and red stitching for £2895.00 extra on top of the bucket seat option what do you really get for your money and is it worth adding this as an option or not?
