hi
i have just removed my rs6 gearbox in situ without any issues with lambdas etc.the job itself wasnt that bad really and thought it would be worse.myself and a friend (both technicians) had the box out in 5 hours the only issue we had is removing the offside turbo bolts to manifold but we overcome that easy enouogh with a bit of brute force(nearside turbo didnt need moving).so the box is now with a friend of mine being fully overhauled(and i mean fully)as some companies wont fully overhaul them and he has sourced an uprated torque converter so alls good ready to go back together next week.

Sounds good. What's the issue with the turbo to manifold bolts? Access to get a tool on them?

What's your uprated TC?

hi
the issue with the turbo to manifold bolts were they are partialy obscured by the bulkhead and heatshields.so a bit of messing and brute force soon sorted the job out,ill post more info on the tc once its up and running again.

2 mechanics take 5 hours .. So 10 hours in total .. Takes longer than dropping the engine ...

out in 3 hours...that's impressive coupled with not having to disturb the engine...looks to be the way ahead...looking forward to hearing how this one concludes
