An expensive can at that, as I am also looking at getting the limitation removed.sonny wrote:A can of worms springs to mind now buddy lol

Won't make a huge amount of difference if you're still starting in 3rd at 50mph. At 4k rpm you're well off the power band.
In 2nd it's over 5 so not a problem as the throttle limit doesn't come into play..

It does make a very big difference if youve had the lot done, power is in much earlier and much stronger, torque increase is substantial on a car that had the lot done, any doubters should pop to mrc and ask doug nicely for a demo drive of his own b7,its that kind of situation were the mods a very noticeable and the standard car was very poor
Re: Another dissapointing tear up
Interesting thread this. Many times I have struggled to keep up or leave cars which I would have expected to overcome easily (not a boy racer incidently) but have always realised after the event I was in the wrong gear. With fuel prices as they are I would guess the majority tend to drive in a higher gear than the optimum for performance which leaves this car at a disadvantage. With peak power at nearly 8k I doubt if there are many who drive it as it was designed most of the time, I know I don't and that is how you get caught out.

Re: Another dissapointing tear up
I don't think the RS4 was built to have 50mph "tear ups", it's got bigger fish to fry.
Bit like going London to Glasgow on the space shuttle, a Cesna would prob be quicker.

i was blasting round some B roads in my S4 today
it was fast
but the RS 4 would have been just as fast, and sounded better

Re: Another dissapointing tear up
..and got better MPG
sorry DK, I just can't get over how bad the S4 3.0T mpg is when it was designed to replace the 'inefficient' V8, how do you find it?

You would struggle to get that out of a VAG 1.4 TFSI lump, so you must be doing something wrong !aka_dk wrote:iv got 40mpg out of it...

Re: Another dissapointing tear up
when pushing on, the S4 is just as economical as the V8 S4
but its when cruising, the car is miles ahead of the V8
If I avoid city driving, or twisty B roads , I see north of 30mpg EVERY single journey
so far over 5k, 28.5MPG

Re: Another dissapointing tear up
That is very impressive considering the performance, pity it doesn't handle too.
Re: Another dissapointing tear up
It's 5mpg in trade off for V8 sound.....
