Would the the RS4 B7 disks / hat fit? They look much more like the Phaeton ones than ours do.mrmule wrote:Yes about 3mm gets you in the centre of the caliper. But this spacer/washer steps the carrier of the caliper out (actually in to the car), not the disc itself.
You're proposing a similar approach? 7mm is a big spacer for the caliper. I think I'd prefer a solution for the disc itself.
Finding a replacement bell for the phaeton disc sounds like the better option... Bam? Only thing I dont get is that the Phaeton front discs I have seen do not have a bell which is bolted to the disc. So how does this get swapped over if it's one big unit?
At some point you'll have to present an actual disk to your hub to see what needs moving where. A 7mm adapter plate wouldn't particularly bother me, people put more than that on their wheels which suffer much harsher constraints;
Can the disk be mounted on the other side of the hat? Can the caliper be mounted on the other side of the carrier, or both. Maybe by playing with these parameters you might find an ingenious way to get the disks on.
