Well, got the rear indicator bullbs as well as number plate bulbs but didnt work out too well... The indicator bulbs flash too fast as if there is a bulb failure and the bulb out warning comes on. Same with the rear number plate bulbs. When I have fitted both bulbs they pulsate between "bright and then"not as bright" if you know what I mean. Now, if I take out one of the bulbs and replace with the original then the remaining LED works fine. I am beginning to think that there might be something wrong with my car. I say this because BM Town kindly replaced my main rear LED units because sometimes when I start the car the driver side brake light and the passenger side fog light unit do not operate. In conjunction with this I get bulb out warnings. Later they come on. Now the exact same thing is happening with the replacement units that BM sent to me. Does anyone know what might be up with my wiring??17-APG wrote:Yes, BM are sourcing for me and also the DRLs . Hope to have both indicator bulbs and DRLs in a few weeks to try out. Nice to have bright white lights for the DRLs!!! This has happened to me once17-APG wrote:Well, got the rear indicator bullbs as well as number plate bulbs but didnt work out too well... Did it happen the exact same way in the one brake light and one fog light failed to come on?wellzieRS4 wrote:This has happened to me once17-APG wrote:Well, got the rear indicator bullbs as well as number plate bulbs but didnt work out too well... I am going to do a few tests over the next few days to see if I can narrow the issue down.

Same here. When fitted they seemed to "pulse" between a bright light and then dimmer. I took them out and refitted but still the same. Bulb out warning also. So I guess there is no way round this one??MB2 wrote:I had bulb out warnings with number plate lights that were meant to work OK so had to send them back. Some I saw on a US site said only work with red DIS so I think colour DIS is very sensitive

I am replying here cause I hope PetrolDave can help!!! Symptom, my BM Town leds activate bulb out when I start the car at night. The driver side brake light does not come on nor the passenger side fog light. Its really weird that these are the specific two. BM kindly replaced them a few weeks back for the same reason. The new ones are the same. So, I tried a few configurations of DRLs on/off and get me home lights on/off. The culprit is the get me home lights. If I keep them permanently turned off I do not get bulb out warnings. Should say here also there are no warnings in daylight hours with both DRL and get me home on. It just seems to happen when I start the car at night. When I unlock the car the get me home lights up. At this time all rear LEDs light up ok. Then, when I start the car, the two rear one go out and bulb out occurs. Any ideas PetrolDave on what might be going on here??PetrolDave wrote:The red DIS is normally only fitted with the lowline spec which doesn't have bulb failure monitoring.MB2 wrote:Some I saw on a US site said only work with red DIS so I think colour DIS is very sensitive

The get me home lights only come on after dark, so that's why you don't get bulb failure warnings in daylight.17-APG wrote: I am replying here cause I hope PetrolDave can help!!! I wonder if it's the voltage difference between engine off and engine running that causes the problem. Maybe the rear LEDs don't increase their current draw as much as the bulb failure warning system is expecting when you start the car, and that triggers the bulb failure warning?

Thats right, they come on in dark conditions only and that's when I get the warning. It could be due to voltage issues because the rear lights are already lit in this situation when the car is started. Funny thing is why doesn't everyone have this issue?PetrolDave wrote:The get me home lights only come on after dark, so that's why you don't get bulb failure warnings in daylight.17-APG wrote: I am replying here cause I hope PetrolDave can help!!!
