knockhill

Does anyone fancy meeting at knockhill sometime? They run various events: Hot Hatch trackdays, Hot Marques trackdays. We could even organise one ourselves if we had enough interest!

Knockhill season is pretty much done now sadly. The hot hatch days are a complete non starter due to the number of scrapyard wrecks T-boning novas at the hairpin.

The hot marques evenings tend to be much more civilised, but are to short overall, although v. cheap.

I tend to go to the porsche OC or TVR OC trackdays and also some of the subaru ones - they usually have free spaces and everyone drives well on the whole - also, the club nights don't have restricted braking areas and coned off apexes - which is nice

I'm always up for Knockhill, especially when its raining, so let me know if anyone is planning a trip.

I'd come along - but I don't think I'd ever partake again.

I was worried about frying the brakes. Now with the RS4 jobbies at £1000 (parts only) to replace all four I think I would be even more concerned. But like I say I'd come along for the crack

Yeah plus knockhill isn't an RS4 friendly circuit - it's well hard work trying to keep up with these little lotus shoeboxes let alone pass them

That's three 'locals' in a row who do not fancy Knockhill.

With JR's blessing, I have enquired about the costs for a Saturday 'exclusive' and will post more details when I have them.

I'm up for a Knockhill sesh - been before with the S2 and I got brake fade(with AP brakes) and smoking pads after about 12 laps - just limit the number of laps and it's a good laugh.

The standard lotuses werent very fast - the 340R was the fastest thing there! F40, Diablo, 360 didn't impress(apart from the sounds) the 355s were nice and fast though.
