Bit strange

Post by beastman » Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:53 pm

Bit strange this one. Parked car up at work this morning locked using key fob as usual. When came back this afternoon all four windows were half down car still locked and red light flashing next to door button. Glad it was dry today!

Any ideas? Ran vag com on way back to house and nothing.

you must have pressed the key fob button and not realising if it was in your pocket
if you hold the button down it will open up the windows.

I agree, ive done this a couple of times. You will also find that it will close any open window when you press and hold down the lock on your key fob. I think you can alter it on vagcom

Holding the unlock button down for a few seconds will indeed open all four windows. BUT, it will also unlock the doors as well. So the only other explanation is that the unlock button was held down for a period of time, released, then the lock button pressed briefly again to lock the doors.

Or, there's a fault somewhere !

If the doors are unlocked and Not opened the doors will lock after a few seconds.

I had this happen to me several times, with no fault codes.

In the end I replaced the siren unit in boot area, and has never occured again.

Don't know if it was a coincidence
