suspension must go..
suspension must go..
i have had my RS4 for two years now and am fully sick of the ride handling .i also have a fairly standard impreza turbo which is so much more fun to drive than the RS .is there a definative answer to which suspension works best ,how much and where can i buy them.am i the only person who thinks this as all my freinds cant believe an RS4 cant be that bad.answers would be appreciated
RE: suspension must go..
First thing would be to upgrade the anti roll bars.
If you're still not happy, then fit something like the Bilstein PSS9 coilover kit.

RE: suspension must go..
I must admit they are pretty bad for wallowy ride, feeling every single bump and tramlining at the littlest thing. I wondered if it was just mine but it can really affect the driving experience at times.

Bilstein PSS9s plus H&R ARBs with rear extensions apparently transforms the car!Contigo wrote:I must admit they are pretty bad for wallowy ride, feeling every single bump and tramlining at the littlest thing. I wondered if it was just mine but it can really affect the driving experience at times.

I have the PSS9's and H&R roll bars on mine. I'm really pleased with the ride & handling now. Its actually feels more compliant than standard on the softest setting, but if you go on track or like the car firmer, you can adjust the damping to suit.

RE: Re: RE: suspension must go..
cant be that bad havnt seen too many world rally RS4s .if the weight of the audi is the problem then why did they build it with the stock suspension or maybe its only made for straight lines .
Re: RE: Re: RE: suspension must go..

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: suspension must go..
i`ve been in s4int`s rs4 and with the set up he has it makes a massive difference compared to my rs4 that is still on standard ARB`s and suspension . there is less role when cornering, much higher cornering speed. also feels so much more stable at higher speeds .

Re: RE: Re: RE: suspension must go..
I have all of this plus the support brackets for the subframe and have just spent 13.5 (yes!) hours at Centre Gravity having it all set up yesterday - will do a full write up with pictures hopefully tonight.S4INT wrote:I have the PSS9's and H&R roll bars on mine. The bits on the car certainly improved things - but having full corner weighting, ride heights, and geometry done by Chris (genius) has UTTERLY TRANSFORMED my car. It is now an absolute hoot to drive
More to follow, so watch this space.......
p.s in total, I have spent approx £3k on getting the car to where it is now in terms of handling and the last £600 spent at CG yesterday were absolutely essential.

By how much has your car been lowered? And is it speed hump friendly (probably not I fear)?
Am thinking of going down your route...
Cheers
