Rear brakes

Am running monster 6 pot calipers with 360mm discs on front,rs4 b5 rears under heavy braking i`m getting a noise like rear pads are worn but on inspection there fine. I also recently been getting a spongey pedal wihile repeated heavy braking. Suggestions please

Take the pads off and check the state of the discs for any evidence of hot spots and warping. If they are cross drilled then clean out the holes. Run an emery cloth over the pads and discs, Bleed the system (Change fluid if not done in the last 2 years). Run through a bedding in sequence and see if all that helps.

Sounds like pad material to me.

If you are getting it under heavy braking, the pad materrial is poss being deposited ('melted')onto the disc.

Get this alot on bikes with 'sintered' pads.

Braided hoses needed if not already there?

On closer inspection looks like pads are fxxxxd, is there a good recommended pad for hard road use not track though. Also which fluid, used selenia fluid on last car (moded EVO1 integrale)but cost are limited this time.
