Rear brakes
Rear brakes
Am running monster 6 pot calipers with 360mm discs on front,rs4 b5 rears under heavy braking i`m getting a noise like rear pads are worn but on inspection there fine. I also recently been getting a spongey pedal wihile repeated heavy braking. Suggestions please
Re: Rear brakes
Take the pads off and check the state of the discs for any evidence of hot spots and warping. If they are cross drilled then clean out the holes. Run an emery cloth over the pads and discs, Bleed the system (Change fluid if not done in the last 2 years). Run through a bedding in sequence and see if all that helps.bops4 wrote:Am running monster 6 pot calipers with 360mm discs on front,rs4 b5 rears under heavy braking i`m getting a noise like rear pads are worn but on inspection there fine. RE: Re: Rear brakes
Sounds like pad material to me.
If you are getting it under heavy braking, the pad materrial is poss being deposited ('melted')onto the disc.
Get this alot on bikes with 'sintered' pads.
