Possible clutch on its way out?

Post by mattykerby01 » Sat Feb 07, 2009 12:25 pm

Hi guys,

After some advise please.

Car seems to be pulling very hard as normal but if at low revs in either 5th or 6th, when floored around 3200 rpm as the boost builds up to peak the revs seem 'race' then settle again.

I am assuming my clutch is on its last legs :cry:

Any suggestions on a replacement, OEM or performance unit ? Bearing in mind my misses drives the car (boost set very low) and dont really want the clutch pedal to be too hard.

Thanks

Matt

write an e-mail to doug@mrctuning.com, and ask for the Stage1 clutch.
It comes with an OEM pressure plate, and a ceramic/metallic disc.

Got the OEM fitted and it's a big job in terms of labour costs. 10-12 hrs.

About 1500-2000 at Audi Stealers and under a K at Specialist.

I had mine done and the flywheel all in for 1700 notes.

Still at a dealer 8 x 120 = 960
parts = 400

You get my drift.

Have you any thoughts on the fly wheel, replacement dual mass or light weight aluminium ?

Do you think i should change the fly wheel, as car now covered 120k miles?
