I have a feeling the picture of the kit's component parts is not the correct one...i.e. it is not the RS4's. If you look at the fitted kit (in the above picture), it is wider and differently shaped with what looks like the capacity for a much wider diameter conical filter. The picture below it looks like a kit for a different car. Also, we cannot see the inferior aspect of the kit so I wouldn't write it off as having no additional openings. It certainly looks like a much more direct/larger diameter and larger air flow feed than stock so I don't see how you've concluded it is more restrictive.t_urbo wrote:26.6 Nm? Seriously!
Judging by it's design i would not be surprised if it actually restricted airflow at higher 3 figure speeds.
The original airbox has an additional opening to allow the extra air required at such speeds, whivh that does not.
GruppeM have an astonishingly good reputation so I'd wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions that it is "restrictive". When I contacted them 12 months ago, they had this kit in development for 8 months already and were not happy to release it until they felt confident that it does what it says. They certainly did not rush it, which is actually a good sign in my eyes.
The only way to prove/disprove whether it works is for someone to buy it, have the car mapped with it and compare dyno readings before and after.
