193 bhp heads on S4

Post by matias » Fri Feb 15, 2008 7:12 pm

Is there any problem in fitting some heads from a V6 non turbo engine, in a S4?

If I want to fit the head from a non turbo 30V, I must then use my S4 cams and exhaust valves?????

Well, I suppose you could not bother to do so, if you don't want it to work.

Exhaust cams are the same. Exhaust valves are sodium filled in S4 and RS4, and the exhaust valve springs are different. So you should use those from the S4 head.

The inlets are much wider in the 2.8 head, so you sholud port the intake manifold or change it to the RS4 intake.

if the heads you plan to use are from a 2.4 then you can just bolt them straight on ...

you dont have to change the exhaust valves, BUT the s4/rs4 exhaust valves as the guys have stated they are sodium filled and transfer heat better ...

the cams from a pair 2.4 heads are the same as cams in rs4 heads...

they will work no differently left as they are tho.....

i am running a pair of ported 2.4 heads .....
ill post some pics soon

40mm exhaust ports.........

The 2.4 model which would be a B5. I can remember there being some early B6's as well.

2.4 only came in B5 chassis, as well as C5.

A lot of the A4 B6 cabriolet's had 2.4 heads.
