Check the b5 forum on audi-sport.net. There's a guy undergoing a full conversion now. I think the wide
arches and sills look the mutts on the saloon. Now, where's that lottery ticket......

For all that money but the B7 RS4, it looks far better and will sound awesome too. For me, I don't see the point in modding a standard a4 to the spec of an Rs4.

It actually makes very good sense,

you can pick up an A4 B5 dead cheap (even a slightly accident damaged one) and for the £15,000+ you save over a B5 RS4 you can build the very rare widebody saloon in the finish of your choice and upgrade all the chasis and engine components, it is cheaper than modding a b5 S4. Using second hand RS parts would make it even cheaper.

Looks are subjective. I prefer the B5, fitting the engine and tranny too.

And why? Simple. It's a sedan, it's my car, my money, and also my choice, end of. I didn't borrow the money off anyone driving the more expensive B7 RS4, so what the heck?

You might as well ask, why would one buy a B5 S4 wagon, and modify the engine / brakes to RS4 spec? Again, it's their car, their money, and their choice! Built to satisfy themselves, and no one else.

I'm building the car for myself, no one else. Shikena?

I bought the rear quarters just before the price increase - £299 + VAT for the n/s, and £419 + VAT for the o/s.

Now, both sides are each £719 + VAT.
