connected to vag-com using USB

i have connected the VAG com using USB however it finds teh port but

keeps saying interface: not found!

can anyone tell me please teh possbilities of this problem please

Have you installed the VAG-COM drivers, not just the VAG-COM program?

Have you connected the cable to the car AND turned the ignition on? The cable won't be found unless you have.

Last but not least, only genuine Ross-Tech interface are compatible with the USB setting in VAG-COM. So if you are using a 3rd party interface you may want to check the instructions you got from the seller of your interface hardware. If in doubt state the name/type of your interface hardware and from whom your bought it.

i got teh cable from ebay from autonostics

Under these circumstances your experience with the USB functionality of VAG-COM is totally correct. Your 3rd party interface does not provide a VAG-COM compatible direct USB access, it rather uses a virtual serial/com port which means as I said before you should refer to the instructions you got from the seller/vendor of your hardware or contact them for support that's your best bet.
