Turn it in with fingers and then just nip-it up for the last few threads with a screw-driver!

I thought the software upgrade from version 50 to 80 meant that the valves now stay open in sport mode all of the time i.e. including when the revs are low?? :?:

Rather than remove the pipes and plug them and the valves, would it not be possible to just clamp the pipes shut in situ - which can be readily reversed if an issue arises?
That's right and at the DMS group buy the car with the Miltek was running leaner than it should, not that it was proven to be the cause but common sense should tell you that changing the exhaust or over-riding the flaps is going to have an effect on the AFR's and without the proper map may cause the engine to run leaner.

It's possible that doing so may cause the ECU to pull the timing and result in LESS power, albeit small.

I mailed a mate Will @ http://www.p-torque.co.uk/

about "running issues with this "Flap bypass", he has confirmed that this mod does NOT cause problems. :)

Just for the sake of everyone on here, would you consider pasting in the whole email - as in your question + his answer?

I can't as it was on "Tyresmoke" and as users know your mails are not kept only replies.
The jist was:
If the Flaps in the back boxs are over ridden manually and kept open, will this have a lean fuel running issue with the engine, or an long term engine problems.

His reply was:
"The Flaps can be bypassed with NO funning issues"

Have disabled the valves just as described by CJD245 and yes it only takes about 10mins tops.
It seems to have cured a slight hesitation there was in the mid-rev range - certainly worth doing and dead easy to reverse the mod if ever you felt the need. :thumb:
