Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
I need to change a duff ecu on a 99 a4 T sport im led to believe they need coding in to synchronize the immobilizer, any here done it before? Im still learning my way around vagom any pointers would be a big help guys
RE: Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
What's the part number of the ECU you need to replace? If you're lucky, VAG Com can do it, if not, a trip to the dealer's and a few notes less in your wallet will get it sorted...
RE: Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
Part no 8do 907 558e
RE: Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
You should be able to recode it with VAG-Com. Go to Instruments (address 17), then adaptation (10), read channel 00, test and save 000 in there then see if the car starts. if not, repeat procedure in Immobilizer (address 25), as this car is likely to have a separate immobilizer control unit.

RE: Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
Thanks Mihnea i will try this tmrw morning before i trailer the car into the stealers at 1 oclock,I hope i can fumble my way through it ok,The car only has one key and its plain non remote type,Do i need to obtain any codes from the origonal ecu before i remove it?Or is test and save 000 the code? Thanks for your help im enjoying the learning and appreciate it
RE: Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
You don't need to obtain any codes as it's very likely that you have IMMO 2, not 3. Keys have nothing to do with allowing a new ECU to run in the car, so just follow my procedure and you should be fine

RE: Can vagcom code in a replacement ecu?
WooHoo all sorted she runs just fine,Thanks a million Minhea, were do i find out all these procedures is there anything i can buy?Have elsa but need a bit of help getting up to speed with vagcom
